Some moving image archival footage of Celilo from the 20′s and 30′s set to a Chinook song, called the ‘Changer Song”. In the opening scene it reads “Celilo Falls. Native fishing grounds of a vanishing race.”… and to this I say, WE are still here!…. May we never forget!

Columbia River, a 1949 US Department of the Interior propaganda film with songs by Woody Guthrie. Watching this in contrast with the Celilo footage, creates quite a culture comparison.
“Trails That Lure” was a film about recreation in the Columbia Gorge, commissioned by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (the agency which oversees the Forest Service) and premiered 100 years ago! It was filmed by George R. Goergens in 1918, and released in 1920.
